Exercise and Your Teeth

In a University of Pittsburgh study, 191 overweight women exercised for 150 to 300 minutes a week and all limited their calories to 1,500 a day.

Those who averaged 290 minutes of weekly exercise lost up to 30 pounds, twice as much as those who did only 150 minutes and nearly six times as much as those who logged even less time.

Those who worked out the most kept off the weight the longest, at least two years.

Teeth Tell the Story

Paranthropus robustus had a diverse diet, including fruits and nuts.

The new finding casts doubt on the idea that a limited diet of tough vegetation led to the hominids' extinction more than 1 million years ago.
