Protein And Mid Life Muscle

Hanging on to midlife muscle is much easier than trying to regain it later, a University of Texas study says.

Muscle biopsies conducted on study participants (average age 68) found that their muscles had assimilated 61 percent fewer amino acids from protein than younger subjects. Recommended protein levels for those over 50: 46 grams for women and 56 grams for men.
