Mention of the local book store's sign declaring it open last Tuesday in honor of July Fourth reminded a local resident Harry L. of a sign he saw as a lad.

It was on a drinking establishment in the eastern Pennsylvania coal-mining region where he grew up. The notice said: “Closed on account of July 4th – use side door, same as Sunday.”
