chemicals.

Amphetamines and Other Stimulants

stay away from amphetamines (speed). Simplified discussion gives a
history of stimulants, lists the names of the drugs, describes what
they do to the body.

Amphetamines:
Danger in the Fast Lane
Aimed at scaring young adult readers (high school age) so they
stay away from amphetamines (speed), this book examines the history,
effects, and medical and legal aspects of amphetamine use and abuse.
Amphetamines
Amphetamine Syntheses:
Industrial Edition
Looks at various areas related to making amphetamines like the
meth lab, the law, designer drugs, chemistry of the reactions, etc.
The majority of the book, however, details syntheses of
amphetamine and related chemicals such as MDA, MDMA (ecstasy), DOB,
TMA, PMA, MDEA (Eve), DOM (STP), methylcathinone, phenetermine,
aminorex, ephedrine.

Recreational Drugs
Well illustrated, it covers the equipment, techniques and
reagents used in the clandestine manufacture of illegal drugs.
Procedures for crystallization, chromatography, distillation and
reductions are given for the following types of drugs:
Amphetamines, THC, Analgesics, Hypnotics, Sedatives, and
Tranquilizers. Also includes detailed instructions for buying and
making precursors.
The book was written in 1989 and some of the methods are
obsolete. It is technical, but a person with a strong knowledge of
chemistry should have no problem understanding the methods
described.

Secrets of Methamphetamine Manufacture:
Including Recipes
for MDA, Ecstasy, And Other Psychedelic Amphetamines
It's filled with some great info, and after talking with people
who actually manufacture drugs, this book is very accurate.
If you want to make psychedelic amphetamines yourself and are
already familiar with chemistry you should have no problem producing
your own with the aid of this book.
The manufacturing process is complex and dangerous, so if you
have no prior chemistry or meth experience, producing meth is not
recommended.

Speed Culture:
Amphetamine Use and Abuse in America
The only non biased, factual book about the history of speed I
have found in print. Written in 1975, it doesn't cover recent
history, but does give a good history up to the time of publication.
It was written by the author of Marihuana
Reconsidered and describes how amphetamines have been used both
medically and recreationally in the United States.

Total Synthesis II
Comprehensive and detailed book on the underground production of
ecstasy and amphetamines. Step by step synthesis recipes are given
in extensive detail.
Chemists from around the world have contributed their favorite
recipes and comments to provide the reader with massive insight and
options. Lots of explanatory notes that seem to get omitted from a
lot of journals.
A couple of semesters of organic chemistry lab are required. You
will need some real chemistry knowledge if you want to even think
about attempting a lot of stuff in this book.
