Testimonials of Medical Marijuana treatments
Here are some excerpts of testimonials.
I was
injured several years ago in an auto accident. Soon after the accident I
developed a condition called Fibromyalgia. I am have been examined by many
doctors and have been declared totally disabled by our social security system. I
continue to suffer from severe and chronic body pain, frequent migraine
headaches, and subsequent debilitating fatigue and depression in trying to cope
with these unending cruel symptoms. My physicians do not hesitate to prescribe
massive quantities of oxycontin, demerol, methadone, and recently marinol. All
of these drugs have had at first limited, and eventually no success in
alleviating my suffering and pain. And all of these drugs if used on a regular
basis reek havoc in my body. The only meaningful relief or success I have
had in dealing with my condition has been the several times I have recently used
marijuana. The medical personnel I see acknowledge marijuana's effectiveness in
helping my condition, but will not write a prescription for me, even though it
has become legal on the books in this state (arizona) to do so. Their response
in due to the threat by the Federal Government to revoke medical licenses for
anyone that has the balls to take such action. So my present dilemma is in
finding a doctor within my state brave enough to help me. Do you or any of the
people within your network have knowledge of qualified medical doctors
willing to help me within my area. If so please contact me with such
information. Thank you for your efforts, and god bless you for your present
actions.
"I have been using marijuana for about 20 years for the control of
pain, nausea and stress associated with Rhumatoid Arthritis. The first thing I
noticed with the use of marijuana was it seemed to allow me to step back from
the pain, resting my mind long enough to enable me to have a break from the
pain, which I feel would have broken me were I not able to give my mind a rest
from fighting the pain on a daily basis. It left my mind clear enough to
function unlike the conventional prescribed pain medications."
"I
suffer from medically documented migraine headaches - for which I've been given
numerous pills, injectable medication, to lessen the blinding headaches,
vomiting, nausea, imbalance, inability to sleep or eat. Without question - a few
puffs of marijuana works better to heal the migraine and it's side effects than
ANY of the numerous medications that I've been prescribed over the past 5 years,
without the debilitating effects of the pain pills."
Here is my accompanying doctors letter: To whom it may concern.
I have determined
after careful examination that this patient would benefit from the therapeutic
effects of marijuana. My in depth and careful research has convinced me that
marijuana used in controlled and limited situations can be of great value to
patients suffering from migraines, the traumatic and debilitating after effects
of cancer therapies, and nausea associated with AIDS/HIV and its treatment.
If it is possible for patients to grow their own marijuana at home, in small
quantities, I indorse this practice. please provide my patient with the means to
do so.
Sincerely
Dr. E__ C___, MD
"I
suffer from migraine headaches. I have tried every type of pain medication and
NOTHING stops the pain from coming on. Finally I was taking Demerol just to stop
the pain and sleep.
I was out golfing the other day and a Migraine came on.
My vision became blurry and I became disoriented. I knew the headache would come
in 20 minutes
and I had no medication and was 1 1/2 hours from home. I was going to leave the
tournament and get home. Someone offered me a hit of pot (which I do not smoke)
I tried it AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! the headache was stopped
and I finished my day.
Thanks for the seeds"
"I
recently began to smoke again due to illness and desperation, my doctor had
recommended it to me, but I said no at the time, so I continued on with
medications etc. Eventually I became unable to eat any food at all, I was
existing on juice from a juicer as I could no longer eat, obviously one can not
expect to last forever like this. My doctors say it is from extensive
neurological damage , so a friend got me a little smoke to try. It has helped me
alot, I can now eat as many as three times a week after going 4 Months of
nothing but juices! I know this is not your concern but I wanted to
honestly say that I think you are doing a brave good thing for people like me
and others. Thanks ; )"
Getting a medical
note from your doctor is not an easy task, but with recent breakthroughs in the
courts, Doctors are becoming more willing to do the right thing.
Many
doctors are not fully educated so the first thing you should do is ask them how
they feel about the Marijuana Laws as it pertains to Marijuana as Medicine. If
they are negative and narrow minded don't waste your time, see a new doctor, or
specialist. Once you find a Doctor that is open minded, tell him of the benefits
you receive from Marijuana use, teas, or baking with Marijuana. Ask for a note
to declare that Marijuana can help alleviate the symptoms of your illness. Find
out the local Medical Marijuana laws in your Country, State or Province. There
is much info detailing the benefits for Epilepsy, Migraines, MS and Nausea for
AIDS patients and Chemotherapy. Studies show that Marinol (synthetic THC pill)
does not work! It may be very difficult to get a prescription for Asthma,
Depression and Arthritis as well as many other ailments that are not well
studied.
In Toronto, Canada, in (June 99) Jim Wakeford
won his case to use Marijuana for relief from AIDS. It was determined that
Marijuana
should be given to those who need it
, and the Government will start the process in June, 1999!
To all The Doctors who may be reading this today please educate your peers
and yourselves and don't be afraid to honor your oath.
