Cloning Made Simple, Dirt Method
Please wash your hands before beginning.
Ok, here we go.

First up is the donating mother. We will be taking a total of five clones.

Next we have the planting mix I use. I use this for everything, from clone to flower
and also the mothers.

Next up are the supplies. In the group we have.
1. Shultz brand rootone rooting hormone.
I have used other brands than shultz and they work equally as well.
2. Five 3 oz plastic cups with holes in the bottom for drainage. they are filled
with the above mix and watered from the bottom until saturated.
3. A small paintbrush for poking holes in the mix.
4. A sharp, clean pair of scissors.
5. A cup filled with water to make the final cut in.

Select where you will take the cutting, then make the cut just above a node.

Here is the cutting. It is 3"-4" long.

Next, remove all vegetation except for the tip and maybe one decently developed leave.
Now remove the tips from the remaining leave so that it looks like the above picture.
Here is the angle you will make the final cut at. When considering where to make this final
cut, keep in mind that you want to get as many nodes under the mix as possible.
Do not cut yet.

Making the final cut under water.
This is very important. Also, do not forget to cut it at the angle shown above.

Then dip the cutting in the powder.
Make sure you dip it deep enough.
So that when you are done placing it in the mix you can see powder on the mix.
As shown in the picture below.

Make the hole in the mix barely deep enough for the cutting.
When placing the cutting in the mix push, until you feel resistance.
Then push just a hair further, this will insure good contact between moist mix and the cut stem.

Here are all five of my cuttings.
Do not water them until they have started to dry out a little but not quite
as dry as you would a growing plant.
After that first watering, water just like a growing plant.
If you didn't water from below as I did, water the very next day then follow the previous watering schedule.
I use only pure distilled water until they have rooted and just started to show new growth.
Hope this helps somebody who might have questions on cloning.

At 5 days, they show a little wilt/droop but no yellowing or anything else.

At 8 days.

At 2 weeks old. All have rooted with 3 showing new growth.
