American Voices On Immigration Policies
May 3, 2006
To: U. S. Senate, House of Representatives, President and Vice President
We, the American citizens who elected you to look out for the best interests
of our great country have had enough. It is appalling to see illegal immigrants
protesting the laws of our country, in our cities, and it is even more
disturbing to think that their voices might even sway the way our laws are
written. It is now time for OUR voices to be heard…
1. We want you to make sure our borders are secure. Did we learn nothing on September 11,
2001? If well meaning neighbors from our south or north can access this country
in such vast numbers, how many terrorists have crossed our borders? Your utmost
concern should be the security of our country and the safety of its citizens.
2. We want immigration reform but only after there has been time spent
studying the effects America’s swelling population will have on this country’s
natural resources, schools, social services, jobs, etc. Responsible leaders
would make sure they have all the facts before making any major, life altering
decisions. To rush a bill through to appease some special interest groups is
asinine. If anything, the flow of new people allowed into this country should be
slowed down until some of these effects are known. Again, the existing citizens
of the USA are supposed to be of your utmost concern.
3. We do not want
the illegal immigrants that are here now to be granted any type of amnesty. We
citizens are not rewarded for breaking the law and evading authorities. Why
don’t you prove to us that you can enforce the existing laws of this nation
effectively before you begin writing new laws that can have such overwhelming
effects on America’s population?
If the numbers of protesters impress you and you see passing some type of illegal
immigrant amnesty bill as a way of gaining more votes, then think about this. We who
sign this petition already have the right to vote. Even though we have not yet taken
to the streets in mass protests, we are united in our love of our country and the want
to protect and preserve our country for our children. We will vote for those who
observe the same values and beliefs in the upcoming elections.
Sincerely,

How Others feel about this....
These people should not have any say about anything in this country. They are
here illegally. They should not be entitled to anything from us. They don't like
the way things are here, well go home. No one asked them to come here. Schools
over crowded? Well send the illegals home & they won't be. Unemployed? Send
the illegals home & you'll be able to get a job. These people should not
have ANY rights. It's time for LEGAL citizens of the US to stand up for OUR
RIGHTS. I'm tired of always trying to be politically correct. What about us?
What about what offends us? Time for them to be deported at their own expense,
not the tax payers. -Patricia Baggs
People who enter this country without authorization have ALREADY broken the
law!! Why should they receive special treatment? Why shouldn't they be
prosecuted? Why should they receive ANY type of benefits/services available to
United States Citizens? Why aren't INS agents at these "spontaneous"
demonstrations doing their JOB and arresting these illegal aliens and shipping
them back to where they came from? We need to build a wall between the United
States and Mexico/Canada to prevent ANY unauthorized border crossings. Border
security should be priority #1. NO MORE ILLEGAL ALIENS!! They are not
"undocumented workers". They are ILLEGAL!! Send them home!! If they can't
respect the rule of law, we don't want them and don't need them in our country.
If they enter, or try to enter this country illegally and are caught and sent
back to their country, they should be permenantly banned from applying for U.S.
Citizenship. -David Wilson, Orlando, FL
No country can afford to allow itself to be overrun by all who want to take up
residence there. It is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico with punishment
of 2 yrs. in prision! -Janice Tubman, Sanford, FL
It took me 18 years to get me and the rest of my family here and you think you
are entitled to what? Sorry you are not America. -Hildago Gualupe, CT.
Don't talk to me about "national security" and protecting the lives of Americans
when you can still find ID's and SSN's at 8th and Alvarado in Los Angeles and
the police drive by like it isn't happening. Don't talk about National Security
and about revoking our rights to privacy in our homes and on our phones and then
support illegal immigrants. Stop talking about protecting us from terrorists
when you are not even CONCERNED with our borders. Your war on terror is a big
fat LIE, and everybody knows it. -John Sandoval
I believe in the idea of America as a melting pot, but I also believe that
persons from other countries should be required to show that they are able and
willing to observe the laws of our country and states first. This begins by
following the law to become an American Citizen....PERIOD. If immigrents are
unwilling to folow the law to get here, why should we believe that they will
follow the law when they are living, working, and enjoying the benefits of being
here? -Alva Ingram, Lilburn, GA
DEPORT ILLEGALS and keep em there,Americans DIED for our boarders! KEEP THEM
CLOSED! -Jim Demnyan, Pittsburgh, Pa
To those of us who waited our turn in line to come to the USA, this is a slap in
the face. Secure our borders now, no guess worker/amnesty, deport all illegals.
-Lizette Cartaya Koszty, Kingman, AZ
There are enough loop holes in the current system that if they really wanted to
be citizens they should have done it by now.We have enough legal citazens
sucking benefits from the system we don't need any more.If you live hear you
need to speak english or go home. -Sierra Falmo, seattle,WA
No one in this country illegally or their children should be eligible for
governmental assistance of any kind. Additionally, our school system shouldn't
be burdened with teaching the children of illegal immigrants. Please, stop the
importation of poverty to this country. What you're doing to working class
citizens in the United States is disgraceful and will not be tolerated by the
voting public. Deport all illegal immigrants now! -James M. Welch, North Carolina
I am an Immigrant myself, and I do not agree at all with these illegal immigrant
suporters protest. Illegal immigrants should not be granted American
Citizenship. How dare they come into this country illegally, went out to
protest,, boycott, wasting our tax money, flied their Mexican flag, rasing their
spanish banner, changed our National Anthem to Spanish, and demand us to accept
them. This is too much. These illegal immigrant and the people who support them
have no respect for this country at all. Enough is enough. All these need to be
stopped. Illegal immigrant should not be rewarded by granting them status. If
they got caught, they will need to be deported. -Benjamin Mills, San Diego, CA
The only flag to be flown here is the American flag, the Star Spangled Banner
sung in English, and if you are here illegally, you need to be sent home. It
would be so if you were in any other country. Should we feel bad for them? Yes,
their country and government are poor, as many other countries. We want our jobs
back, I don't want to be required to be bi-lingual to get a job. I shouldn't
have to learn a FORIEGN language to get a job in my own country! Please listen
to your own people, the people who voted for you and are counting on you to take
the best care of us. United we stand, the people of your nation, not Mexico's or
any other. We want the problem fixed right, we want our country safe and
prosperous, if their illegal no matter where their from, send them home. -Stephen Smith, Oregon
Though not a US Citizen, I am in this country as a legal resident alien. I feel
the pain of all Citizens. All aliens legally admitted have to go through long
hardships to be admitted into this country, work hard for this country, pay
taxes and obey law, but these crooked ILLEGALS, broke the law, entered the
country illegally and now demand rights as though they deserve it. It is a shame
that for political mileage, US government is helpless. Why can the government,
just round them up and deport them back to whereever they came. ILLEGALS suck
the benefit which both the Citizens and the Legal aliens contribute to. I am
with you Americans. -SC
