Comedy Face Masks

 

Watermelon Gelatin With Spices

4 servings

  • 2 cups watermelon juice
  • 3 sheets leaf gelatin (or use 1 tablespoon powdered gelatin) (see note)

TOPPINGS

  • Seeds scraped from 1 vanilla bean
  • Chopped mint leaves
  • Chopped basil leaves
  • Grated lemon zest
  • Grated orange zest
  • Saffron
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Spanish paprika
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Star anise
  • Ground black pepper

In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of watermelon juice.

Add gelatin to hot juice and stir to dissolve.

Add remaining juice and stir.

Pour gelatin mixture into four soup plates.

Refrigerate 2 hours, or until gelatin is set.

Garnish each plate of gelatin with a bit of each topping,

  • placing vanilla seeds at 12 o'clock,
  • mint at 1 o'clock,
  • basil at 2 o'clock
  • and so on
