Comedy Face Masks

 

Coffeecake

9 servings

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

STREUSEL FILLING

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until the mixture is like cornmeal.

Mix in the well-beaten egg and the milk. Add the vanilla and mix well.

In a bowl, combine the streusel ingredients and stir to combine. Pour half of batter into a well-greased 8-by-8-inch pan. Sprinkle with half of streusel mixture. Cover with remaining batter and add remaining streusel on top.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Per serving: 334 calories, 16 g fat, 30 mg cholesterol, 325 mg sodium, 45 g carbohydrates, 5 g protein, 2 g fiber.
