Comedy Face Masks

 

Clafouti

This is a rustic French recipe, which traditionally uses cherries, but other fruits can be used as well. (Clafouti (lite))

8 servings

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 11/4 pounds cherries, pitted
  • Powdered sugar

In a bowl, whisk the eggs and yolks. Add the butter, sugar, salt, flour, milk, cream, vanilla extract and almond extract, and whisk again. Place the cherries in a greased 10-inch tart pan. Pour the egg mixture over the cherries.

Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes, until puffed and golden. Dust with powdered sugar.

Per serving: 323 calories, 22 g fat, 207 mg cholesterol, 182 mg sodium, 28 g carbohydrates, 6 g protein, 1 g fiber.
