The Marquis de Favras was caught by radicals of the French Revolution while

trying to help King Louis XVI escape. Convicted of treason, he was handed his official death sentence by a court clerk as he was led to the scaffold to be hanged. His last words: “I see that you have made three spelling mistakes.”
