The Mafia Don

A Mafia Godfather has deliberately chosen a deaf mute as his bookkeeper for obvious reasons, - the bookkeeper can never testify to what he hasn't heard.

But all is not well in "the organization". Six million dollars are missing and the bookkeeper is the prime suspect. So Don Antonio and his lawyer (who speaks sign language) take the bookkeeper to a secluded place in the woods and the conversation is as follows:

Don Antonio to the lawyer: "Ask him where the money is?"

Lawyer (in sign language): "Where is the money?"

Bookkeeper (in sign language): "What money?"

Don Antonio: "What did he say?"

Lawyer: "He said "What money?"

Don Antonio: "Tell him not to play games or he'll be sorry."

Lawyer (in sign language): "The Godfather says for you not to play games or you'll be sorry."

Bookkeeper (in sign language): "I'm not playing games. What's this all about?"

Don Antonio: "What did he say?"

Lawyer: "He said he's not playing games."

At this point, Don Antonio whips out a nine millimeter pistol, cocks it and puts the barrel in the bookkeeper's mouth. "Now tell him that I'm getting tired, that I can live without the six million if I have to, and that if he keeps this up I'm going to blow the top of his head off."

Lawyer (in sign language): "The Don says that if you keep this up he's going to blow your head off."

Bookkeeper (in sign language): "Okay, okay. I don't want to die. The money is in a black attache case, buried in my cousin Luigi's back yard to the right of the bird bath."

Don Antonio: "So what did he say?"

Lawyer: "He said he'll never tell because you're yellow and haven't got the guts to pull the trigger."
