Castro's Surgery Sets Backdrop for War
August 8, 2006
Reports are coming in that the United States is staging troops and ships
around Cuba to help support the Cubans if something strange happens
while The Cuban leader Fidel Castro recovers from surgery. Fidel
appointed his brother, General Raoul Castro to run the country during
Fidel's medical recovery.
Apparently, President Bush feels threatened by the temporary leader,
Raoul Castro, should some mishap United States feels threatened by
Cuba. This is the same country that has had an arms and trade embargo
for forty years or so. In fact Cuba is so weak that Fidel did not have
enough forces to prevent the US from setting up the detainee camp known
as Guatanamo on Cuban soil.
I found this threat hard to understand. How could such a simple thing
as a medical procedure become a full blown military alert. Fidel Castro,
the 80 year old Prime Minister needed stomach surgery and our government
reacts like we are getting ready for war. Investigations and research
using the unknown and unidentified government sources that can not be
identified since they are unauthorized to talk with the press, their
spouses and the Department of Justice since they may be a part of an
ongoing investigation of any number of political and congressional
investigations of the present administration.
These sources tell me, Mr. Bush and Karl Rove are getting desperate to
win a war. The administration is upset that the efforts to control
Iraq, Iran, North Korea, and Afghanistan have been futile. These
countries refuse to be assimilated into the Bush democracy and just keep
on waving the finger at Mr. Bush. We are sending more troops to Iraq,
with the distinct possibility of civil war. The administration was
looking to lower the US troop count just before the midterm elections
and wanted to use this for news to help the Republicans retain control
of Congress during the midterm election. The way it now looks, Iraq will
remain a complete disaster by the November election, just 90 days away.
The administration has been very ineffective in the Israel i -
Hezzbolah shoot-out with Lebanon being the helpless victim. Experts
are having a hard time determining if the administration is mishandling
the situation or dragging their feet in a quest for peace. Either way,
the leaders of Lebanon don't have the forces to protect their citizens
as Hezbollah and Israel pound the heck out of each other while the
country and its citizens are pulverized.
North Korea and Iran just keep on working towards building their nuclear
stockpiles according to the President's staff. If this keeps up, more
countries will have nuclear bombs by the end of the Bush administration
than at any time in history. We shouldn't worry, all airline passengers
will be checked to prevent any bombs from entering the United States in
checked luggage, to keep us safe.
Bush's advisors say Mr. Bush would reap a lot of political capital if
he was to take over and liberate Cuba, claiming he was protecting Cubans
from a strong hurricane, while Fidel was recovering from or failed to
survive his medical malady. At last President Bush and Dick Cheney could
show that they are effective war leaders, able to liberate Cuba, just
like Ronald Reagan and Poppa George Bush did when they had to deal with
Panama and Grenada years ago. Unfortunately, Reagan and Poppa Bush knew
to pick on the little guys first. And they knew enough to stay out of a
direct confrontation in the middle east, especially with oil involved.
