Eye-witness Accounts of the Nazi horrors

Hello friends,

I rarely forward anything but this struck home.

You see I was with the 271st Engineer Combat Battalion in the 71st (Red Circle) Infantry Division. We were in General George Patton's Third Army. The 71st and 44th (I believe) were the two divisions that that liberated a Nazi death camp called Gunskirchen Lager.

It didn't have the notoriety of Dachau or Buchenwald but it was awful just the same. If you want details about Gunskirchen Lager, Google will find it for you.

My company was clearing land mines in support of an advance infantry platoon and was one of the first on the scene. It's something I don't talk about and would like to forget if I could.

But It will be with me as long as I live, - man's inhumanity to man.

There's not many of us left that can give eye-witness accounts of the Nazi horrors.

But take my word for it folks, - they happened alright.
