How to clear your browser history

Viewing and Adjusting Your Browser's History Folder

While the cache captures all websites you've visited in the recent past, including all images on these pages, a browser's History folder records only the URL for each
of these websites. If you click the down arrow to the right of the address field near the top of your browser, the URLs you see are ONLY the URLs you have physically typed in -- not those that were accessed through your bookmarks or favorites or those you arrived at by clicking on a hyperlink on another Webpage.

In both Netscape and Internet Explorer you can see ALL websites you've accessed (typed and clicked) by pressing CTRL+H while in the browser. Although it is really not necessary to clear this History folder, you may want to occasionally delete any evidence of sites you recently visited. To clear the History folder do the following:

Internet Explorer Firefox Netscape
1. Click TOOLS-INTERNET OPTIONS.

2. Click General tab.

3. Click Clear History button.

1. Click TOOLS-OPTIONS. 2. Click Privacy. 3. Click Clear to the right of History. 1. Click EDIT-PREFERENCES.

2. If there is a > symbol to the left of the word "Navigator," click the symbol to open up the menu choices underneath.

3. Click History (under Navigator).

4. Click Clear History button.
